Give Amabrik access to your Webflow site
Invite Amabrik to your Webflow Workspace with a role that can edit custom code and publish, so we install the snippet for you. Remove access after.
If you’d rather not paste code yourself, Amabrik can install the snippet for you. The safest way to let us in is to invite us to your Webflow Workspace with a role that can edit custom code and publish. That’s much safer than sharing your login, and you can remove the access the moment the install is done.
You’ll do this once. After we confirm the snippet is live, take the access away.
Before you start
- You need to be the Workspace Owner or an Admin to invite members.
- The site has to be on a paid Site plan (Basic or higher), otherwise custom code can’t be published. See the admin account article if you’re still on the free plan.
- Have the email address Amabrik gives you ready. You’ll see it confirmed on screen when you submit the Request Installation form. Don’t guess it. Use the exact one we show you.
1. Open your Workspace members settings
- Sign in to Webflow at webflow.com and open your Workspace dashboard.
- Open Workspace settings.
- Go to the Members (People) tab.
2. Invite the Amabrik email
- Click Invite (or Add member).
- Enter the exact email address Amabrik gave you when you submitted the Request Installation form.
- Choose the seat type for the invite. A paid (full) seat is what allows a role that can build in the Designer and edit custom code. Free seats (like Reviewer) can only view and comment, so they can’t do the install.
- Assign a role that can edit custom code and publish the site. The Admin role covers everything we need. If you’d rather scope it tighter, give us a site role on just the one site that allows editing in the Designer (where custom code lives) and publishing. Avoid view-only roles like Reviewer or content-only roles, since they can’t touch custom code.
- If a separate Can publish toggle appears for the role you picked, turn it On so we can publish the site after adding the snippet. (This toggle shows on Growth and Agency Workspace plans.)
- Send the invite.
We’ll get the email, accept the invite, add the Amabrik snippet to Site settings, Custom code, Head code, publish the site, and confirm with you when it’s live.
A note on seats and your plan
Inviting a member with a paid (full) seat uses a seat on your Workspace, which can affect your bill depending on your plan. If you’d rather not take on a paid seat, the fallback below avoids it. Either way, you can remove the member as soon as the install is confirmed, which frees the seat again.
Fallback: a temporary login
If your plan or setup makes inviting a member awkward, you can instead give Amabrik a temporary login to an account that already has the right access. If you do this:
- Use an account that can edit custom code and publish.
- Tell us as soon as we confirm the install, so you can change that password right away.
Inviting a member is safer because you never share a password and you control exactly what we can do. Use the login route only if the invite isn’t workable.
Remove access after the install
Once Amabrik confirms the snippet is live, take the access back:
- Go to Workspace settings, Members (People).
- Find the Amabrik email in the list.
- Click to remove that member.
If you used the temporary login fallback instead, change that password now. Either way, the snippet stays in place. Removing our access does not remove the install, and you keep managing every widget from your own Amabrik dashboard.
FAQ
What email do I invite?
The exact one Amabrik shows you when you submit the Request Installation form. Don’t use any other address. If you’re unsure, submit the form again to see it confirmed.
Which role should I give Amabrik?
The Admin role works for everything. If you want to keep it tight, give a site role on the one site that allows editing in the Designer (custom code) and publishing. Don’t use Reviewer or content-only roles, since they can’t edit custom code.
Will inviting Amabrik cost me a seat?
A paid (full) seat can affect your Workspace bill depending on your plan. Removing the member after the install frees the seat. If you’d rather avoid it, use the temporary login fallback.
Is sharing my login okay instead?
It works, but it’s less safe. Inviting a member means you never share a password and you control what we can do. If you do share a login, change the password right after we confirm the install.
Do I have to leave the access in place?
No. Remove our member (or change the shared password) as soon as the install is confirmed. The snippet keeps working, and you manage your widgets from the Amabrik dashboard.
