Create an account on v0

How to create a v0 account so you can build and edit your app. v0 signs in with a Vercel account, with a free tier to start. Step by step, with a FAQ.

v0 is Vercel’s AI builder. To build or edit an app in it, you need a v0 account, which is the same as your Vercel account. There’s a free tier you can start on, so you don’t have to pay to create one and add the Amabrik snippet. Here’s how to get set up.

Create a v0 account

  1. Go to v0.app and click Sign up (or Get started).
  2. Choose how to sign in. v0 accounts run on Vercel, so you can continue with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or an email address. Whatever you pick becomes your Vercel login too.
  3. If you continue with a Git provider, approve the connection when asked.
  4. Confirm your email if you signed up with one.
  5. You’ll land in v0, ready to start a new project by describing what you want to build.

If you already have a Vercel account, you don’t need a separate v0 account. Just go to v0.app and sign in with the same login.

Start or open the project you’ll install on

  • To build something new, type a description in the v0 chat and let it generate the app.
  • To edit an app you already made, open it from your list of projects in v0.

The Amabrik snippet goes into this project’s code (specifically app/layout.tsx), which you can do straight from the v0 chat. The “How to add Amabrik to v0” guide walks through it.

A note on plans

The free tier is enough to create an account, build, and add the Amabrik snippet. Paid plans add more usage and team features, but you don’t need them just to install Amabrik. If you want several people working in the same project, that’s where a Team plan comes in. See the access article for sharing options.

Add the snippet yourself, or let Amabrik do it

Once you’re signed in and your project is open, you can add the Amabrik snippet yourself in a couple of minutes, usually by pasting one prompt into the v0 chat. The “How to add Amabrik to v0” guide covers it.

If you’d rather not touch it, Amabrik can add it for you. See the next article on giving Amabrik access to your v0 project.

FAQ

Is a v0 account the same as a Vercel account?

Yes. v0 signs you in with your Vercel account. If you already have one, use it. If you don’t, signing up for v0 creates one.

Do I have to pay to create an account?

No. There’s a free tier that lets you build and add the Amabrik snippet. Paid plans add more usage and team features.

I have a Vercel account but never used v0. Do I need to sign up again?

No. Go to v0.app and sign in with your existing Vercel login.

Which sign-in option should I pick?

Any of them work. If you plan to connect your project to a Git repository, signing in with that Git provider (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket) keeps things simple.
