Create an account on Bolt
How to create a Bolt.new account so you can build and edit your app. Bolt uses a StackBlitz account, with email, Google, or GitHub sign in.
To build or edit an app on Bolt.new, you need a Bolt account. Bolt is made by StackBlitz, so when you sign up for Bolt, a StackBlitz account is created for you at the same time. The two share one login. You can sign in with email, Google, or GitHub.
Here’s how to create it.
1. Go to Bolt.new
- Open bolt.new in your browser.
- You’ll see the prompt box where you describe the app you want to build.
2. Start the sign up
- Click Sign in (or Sign up) in the top right. You can also just type a prompt and start building, and Bolt will ask you to sign in to save your work.
- Choose how you want to sign in: email, Google, or GitHub. Pick whichever account you’ll remember.
3. Finish creating the account
- If you chose email, enter your email address and set a password, then confirm your email if Bolt asks you to.
- If you chose Google or GitHub, approve the sign in when the provider’s window appears.
- You’re in. Bolt creates your account (and the matching StackBlitz account) automatically.
4. Create or open a project
- From the Bolt home screen, type what you want to build and press enter, and Bolt generates a new project.
- Or open an existing project from your dashboard if you already have one.
Once you can open and edit a project, you’re ready to add Amabrik. See the install article for the exact steps.
FAQ
Is a StackBlitz account the same as a Bolt account?
Yes. Bolt is made by StackBlitz, and the two share one account. Signing up for Bolt creates your StackBlitz account too, and you can manage the account through StackBlitz.
Can I sign in with Google or GitHub?
Yes. Email, Google, and GitHub are all supported. Use whichever you prefer.
Is Bolt free to start?
You can sign up and start building for free. Some features (custom domains, higher usage, team collaboration) are on paid plans, but you don’t need a paid plan to create an account or add the Amabrik snippet.
Do I need an account just to add Amabrik?
Yes, you need an account to edit your project’s index.html, which is where the Amabrik snippet goes. Creating one is free.
